Kimihiro Tsutsui (筒井公宏 Tsutsui Kimihiro) is a character in Hikaru no Go. He is the founder of the Haze Middle School's Go club.

Tsutsui is a cautious and analytical person. He takes a long time to think about his moves and relies on books.

Plot[]
Go Middle School Tournament Arc[]
Kimihiro Tsutsui is the head of the Haze Junior High Go Club and is holding a competition where the prize is a book called Assorted Tsumego from Toya Mejin's Matches. Hikaru tries to win the book, but they are interrupted by the disrespectful Kaga.
After Kaga beats Hikaru, the three of them enter the Go Middle School Tournament. Initially Tsutsui seems weak because he continuously relies on a joseki book to make the right moves, but he manages to catch up by 20 points in the endgame and wins the 1st round. However, he loses in the 2nd round. In the finals against Kaio, he manages to win by luck when his opponent makes a stupid mistake. However, the team is disqualified as Hikaru is ineligible.
The next year Tsutsui tries to recruit Mitani, who pulls off a stunt during their game, and continues to act disrespectful. Because of this Tsutsui is reluctant to let him on their team. During the match against Kaio, Tsutsui plays Kuno and loses along with the rest of his team.
Insei Arc[]
Hikaru faces against Kimihiro, Kaga, and Yuki in simultaneous matches to determine if he is worthy enough to enroll as an insei and retire from the Go club. Kimihiro is easily crushed, showing how far Hikaru has improved. Eventually Tsutsui graduates from Haze and says goodbye.
Go[]
Kimihiro has great skills in endgame, but initially depends on a joseki book and luck. He is a rather average player.
Relationships[]
Tetsuo Kaga[]
Tsutsui initially hates Kaga for rudely rejecting his invitation to the Go club and sticking gum on his Go board. However, they play on the same team and get along better after that.
Hikaru Shindo[]
He is friends with Hikaru, and they often collaborate in the Haze Go club.
Akari Fujisaki[]
Akari is one of the first recruits for Tsutsui's club.
