Komiya is one of the strongest insei. Though not as strong as the 5 forerunners (Hikaru Shindo, Kosuke Ochi, Yoshitaka Waya, Shinichiro Isumi, and Toshinori Honda), he is on par with Adachi, Tsubaki, and Katagiri. He ends up failing with 6 losses.
